have it written down is that it felt like a piece of us was missing something that

arcane eruptions of magic and devastating use of weaponry from the parties and the

lich alike is finally beginning to settle around your feet.

Sperrigan, looking to your friends, you beat them to it by mere seconds as you see it,

there are certainly ways to discern.

The location of a teleportation spell into Destination. If you're able to assess material components from that spell, that's usually a key indicator.

As well as, I may have narrated this at the end of last session, but correct me if I'm wrong, there are parts of the tower that are not 100% destroyed.

just sort of investigating and at the same time because if you remember during the

encounter with the Lich Queen, sparrigan was looking around trying to

ascertain kind of the mechanics of the spell that was going on and so he's trying

to mix his memory of what he was seeing with now what he's looking around

around with him to try and see if he can find any material components or evidence

of what kind of spell it might have been. Okay. And you're going in alone? I mean I

would rather go in alone but if someone went the minute he says when he says stay

here tough follows. Okay go ahead and make an investigation check with

everyone to please navigate to their character screen on D&D Beyond and head to

the character builder because we are doing a level up I already said it I said it

about 30 minutes ago we didn't do it we're gonna do a level up yeah yeah yeah yeah

so you start want to do this here's how I want to do this you're gonna go through

you're gonna select if you want to I believe at level four everybody gets

their ability score improvement or yes it's always love that there are a lot of

great options ability score improvement is reliable especially if you have a

stat that you're dependent on that's not as high as you'd like for it to be but if

you have your stats where you want this is where you specialize your build this

is where you focus in on what you want your character to really be good at tons of

options so what I want you guys to do is find one that you like I know that I've

given most of you guys a bit of forewarning about this Aaron I know that I

I didn't get a chance to forward warn you as much.

So take this time to go ahead and look over some of the feats.

You can also feel free to ask any of us questions.

It's very good, tough.

It's difficult as you move through the wreckage.

But you do your very best and you find pieces bit by bit.

With a 20 you are able to find chunk after chunk after spending maybe 15 minutes just straight

moving through rubble.

I'd say by 15 minutes you find the first one and over the next 15 you are able to kind

reconstruct for the better part the section of like a ritual circle that collapsed from the roof

when the pedestal that the litch was on blipped out. You find something else as well, two other

things as a matter of fact. Amidst the rubble, you find a very, very large, it's an interesting looking

thing. It looks like a compass for the most part in the sense that it is kind of

brass heavy or an around the edges but actually I think a better description

would be a pocket watch. It looks like a big brass pocket watch. You have to hold

it in both hands. It's kind of the size of like a chip wheel. In the very very top

if you're looking at it like a clock from say 11 to 1 there's a window and you

you've seen Arrow pointing up.

You recognize this thing from moments ago, or maybe hours or days, it feels weird, you're

unsure.

But it could have only been moments when you were fighting the Lich Queen.

In the center, this big thing, whatever it is, was in the center of the rituals, the

the circle. Tough. You move one really big pillar out of the way. You find a trap door in the floor.

There's a symbol engraved on the padlock, but it seems as though whatever magic was holding some kind of arcane seal on this lock,

it's been dismissed, it's no longer present. You throw the trapdoor open.

Sigils flicker to life on the wall, as if to send a spell at an intruder, but quickly die before they can manifest any actual magic.

There's simply a long flight of stairs and a room that looks to have red padded flooring at the bottom.

pick up on... it sounds like stones like rubbing together, which is kind of a

gentle crushing sound, and it sounds like it's moving on something very soft

down there yeah all right I'll go first and I I tried to climb slowly down I'm

trying to stare out the stairs I'm trying to be stealthy no problem

stoicous stealth check that's the thing I can do that's a 17 17 is not bad actually

you just have to beat their passive. They don't have to roll. You reach the bottom of the stairs

and you're able to kind of like peer on the corner into the room. First of all, the chamber

itself insanely gaudy, just so flagrantly self-indulgent. The floors, walls, and ceilings are all velvet

cushions, like large sweeping like 10-foot long velvet cushions interconnected with embroidery.

You don't see any footprints on the velvet cushion at all.

You can only imagine the Lich Queen floating through here

and not touching the floor.

if that magic can get you eternal life, but not taste.

The thing that you are able to detect, Liam, you see, first of all, a standing bar and a couple Shay lounges that have certainly never been used.

The only thing leaving impressions on the cushions and subs are, yes.
