Derek is Manthrothro’s arcade identity: hands in the cabinet guts, pencil on scrap paper, unpaid cleaning still hanging over the crew. He documents before he explains—layers of drawings that only become dangerous once someone else can read them.

Session 2 makes his work plot-critical:

• Sketches that stack into infrastructure once Smitty reads them
• The balcony hit during the castle-defense cabinet
• Proof that the arcade is not a soft landing—machine injury tracks onto the real employee
